Had a great art date today with my lovely friend who taught me to crochet my first single crochet stitches almost exactly one year ago. Today, she came by my studio and taught me how to make a granny square, often used to make blankets. Below is a picture of the first squares that she patiently helped me to create today! Hopefully, I can make a blanket out of a collection of these squares. This is one of my favorite ways to nourish both creativity and relationships; spending time with a friend who is great at something and is a willing teacher.
If you're feeling stuck, try making an art date with someone and ask them to show you a few chords on the guitar or to ride a unicycle (I've seen a unicycle rider in my neighborhood that I need to befriend!). It may not be your thing, but it will open up your sense of adventure and possibility which are integral in this whole creativity thing. As for me, I will get something imperfect and wonderful to wrap up in for the Winter!
