I really enjoyed this post Court! The world would be so dull and boring without artist.

Thanks, Chris! I do believe that each of us living fully and passionately and fully alive is like bringing the world into full color and clarity, without which, it would most certainly be dull. Thank you for taking the time to check out this post.

Patti,
So glad this was a great start to your day! I do get that a lot with my name : ) It is just a family nickname, short for Courtney, that has stuck! Hope that the rest of your day continues to find you inspired!

This post made me smile, Court!

As a musician, especially enjoyed your reference to the classic tune, What the World Needs Now in Reason #17.

We value doctors and other scientists because their work helps us to "live," yet without beauty, creativity - sweet art - what have we to live for?

Melodie,

True true. We must value beauty and art because therein lies the fullness of life. It is not enough for us to merely or barely survive and pass the days away. We need community and connectedness with ourselves and with others. Art, music, caring, compassion, concern, all of these seemingly 'non-utilitarian' or 'unnecessary', soft-skills are what bring us the spice and joy of life! What would the difference be if you went to a Dr's office that had beautiful art on the walls and calming music in the waiting room, with soothing lighting and a kind smile to greet you? How would that change our experience? I believe vastly! We can bring it into many experiences and give so much joy and reason to live to ourselves and to the world! Just some thoughts, thank you for checking out Art Nurture!
