Finally, it has arrived! A software program to help artists function as normal human beings!!!
That is correct...'gyst', which stands for 'Get Your Sh*t Together' is "An Artist Run Company for Artists". The gyst software is a business software specifically for visual artists. It provides a format and organizational system for archiving of images and exhibitions, maintaining CVs and resumes along with proposals and other real life stuff that tends to trip up the artist type. I just purchased this software yesterday and am in the process of uploading and archiving my images. Hopefully, this will help me put a system or organization in place (where I have previously had none!) to get my professional life on track. This software is recommended in "The Artist's Guide" by Jackie Battenfield. Truly, professional practices are sorely missing in most art school experiences and the gyst team has stepped in to fill the gap. They provide a number of helpful resources beyond just the software and you can check that out at: www.gyst-ink.com If you are interested in purchasing the software now, I will let you know that if you check out their blog on their home site there is a coupon code to get a temporary discount for the holiday season. For those of you professional types who are out there saying, "Why does it take artists so long to get it?" I would reply,"Truly, I do not know, but hopefully I am in the process of getting my sh*t together."
