... all the artists know that Studio Stroll soon will be here!
Yes, the River Arts District, where my studio home is located, is abuzz and busy with artists making last minute adjustments and deadlines and tidying space, getting ready for the public to come this weekend for our twice annual Studio Stroll. As for me, my art is on the walls and there is a bit of sleepiness in my eyes. I still have a table to clear off, but I have to work up until the last moment on a drawing or something, it is just my way. I need to make some labels & some other odds and ends, but it is coming together well and everything is much more clean than the beginning of the week. It is nice to have a reason to tidy up the work space and take an inventory of what you have and what you want to do next. Sometimes events like this are the only way I can force myself to do that, even though I know that it is incredibly necessary. I like a good 10 minute de-clutter ( or longer!) it is good for the soul and the productivity tends to go up afterwards. There is something so refreshing and calming about sitting down to work at a clean desk. But maybe that is a carry over from my nerdy elementary school days when I was so completely jazzed about a fresh trapper keeper binder and pencils with brand new erasers. Anyhow, I am thankful that Studio Stroll was the impetus that I needed to clean up and re-evaluate what I would like to be doing as of next week! So, if you are in the neighborhood, please do stop by this weekend and say hello! I will be doing a short talk on "The Top 3 Ways to begin Nurturing Your Creativity Today" from 2:00-2:30 on both Saturday & Sunday during the Stroll in my studio and would love to have you be a part of the discussion! I still have some spots available too, for my online group that will be going through Julia Cameron's, The Artist's Way starting this Monday June 11th! I hope you will join us, this book is amazing and having a community to support you as you go through is is incredible. Taking The Artist's Way class a little over a year ago was the best thing I could have done for my creativity and my life momentum and I am thankful for all that I was able to get out of the experience. I truly hope you will consider joining us for this amazing 12-week course. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me! Below you will see my latest crocheted installation, which will be on view during Studio Stroll this weekend! Hope to see you there!
