Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning.

Or as I like to call it, delayed New Years Resolutions coming slowly but surely to fruition.

Let's face it,New Years Resolutions are hard to really pull off. Mostly because (for me anyways) it is hard to start anything new when it is cold outside. I am still in hibernation mode. This is why I believe most New Years Resolutions fail, because, come January 1st, it is still Winter dreariness outside! How are you going to start anything new and exciting when the sun is beginning to set at 4 o'clock in the afternoon?

Good news, folks, it is Spring! So now that the end of March is here, you can really dig into those lofty goals you were thinking about back in December and failing at in January.... I can say this, because it is 100% true about me! I'm not judging, I'm just sayin', whatever we have all been dreaming of doing, now is the perfect season to let go of self defeat and negative thought and move forward in our lofty, creative, exercise driven, Spring cleaning goals, whatever they may be. It is the perfect time to embrace forward momentum and new life.

It is also the perfect time to enjoy wasting some good time outside and enjoying friends and good food, so don't get too wrapped up in the goals and cleaning out your closet that you forget that too, as I am prone to do. I have these lofty goals of balance! These are my dreams. To have a balanced and productive life as well. Creatively and personally. Ah yes, the ultimate dream of balance; of enjoying your work and your life and being able to give to others as well. This sounds good. These sound like things to which I can consciously aspire.

So, some Spring cleaning is in order, at home, in the studio, inside of myself, letting go of some old things and bringing in of new. Working hard and playing outside.  Learning to cook and taking time to eat. Running a race and slowing down in down time. Painting and teaching and writing.

At the end of it all, I hope to have a much cleaner closet and much fuller life. Cheers to you in your Spring Cleaning adventures!
