I will tell you a little bit about Hannah Miller. She is one of my dear friends and also one of my art nurture heroes. When we were in school together she had been playing the guitar for several years at that point, still struggling as many artists do, with being in front of crowds and opening herself up to that experience. In fact, she tends to be a shy and quiet sort of gal.
In the last seven years since graduating, she has steadily worked on her own music, her sound, her writing, her skills, her stage performance and has grown so exponentially as an artist and as a woman. She also has a beautiful family and husband and group of supportive friends who have been her cheerleaders and support system through the ups and downs. It is evident in that we have all gotten to participate on some level, whether it be taking a photo, sitting at the merchandise table, traveling to see shows and tuning into CBS when one of her songs was chosen to be on the prime time show, "Mercy".
It is inspirational to watch her growth and it has been exciting to see opportunities come her way and for her to meet them with the years of preparation that it takes to do so. The creative process is not a magical moment. There are sometimes magical moments, but for the most part it is a creative process. A process being by definition something not happening in a moment of artistic genius, but in the daily act of showing up and allowing your creativity and your drive to meet the practice of your craft.
Here is her first official music video, for her song "Way About Ya", enjoy!
