"Creativity comes from trust. Trust your instincts. And never hope more than you work." - Rita Mae Brown, writer
Trusting your instincts. It seems so simple, so instinctual. It is the key for sure to becoming a sustainable, consistently and honestly creative. I love the second part of this quote, 'never hope more than you work'. We must learn to listen and to trust and to follow those instincts. That involves some kind of verb-type action on our part to meet our instincts up with action. We cannot listen to our instincts and sit around hoping. We must act. We must join forces with all of those instincts within ourselves and do something about them. Instincts were made for action. With that action we step out in bravery to do the thing we must. Then we often times develop that trust over time, with hindsight, we realize the more and more we trust our instincts, the more and more we listen to them. We develop that creativity trust and thus we develop our creativity. Trust yourself. See what happens.
