One of the hats I wear is teaching students at the local art museum as well as through a community design lab. I get to work with all ages and I truly love the engagement and creativity that my students teach me. It is definitely never boring and always a surprise some of the things they say and create or their reaction to a piece of art I show them. A group of my students recently asked me, since I often reference my own art practice, if I was a famous artist. I paused, not really knowing what to say to them. "Well...." One of my students quickly interjected,"Ok,Ok... Let me ask you this: have you ever had your art in a museum before?!" "Yes, I have." "Ok", she said,"Then you are famous!" Wow, how cool! I had no idea I would be famous in my students eyes at the answer of but one question! As much as we worry about success and fear of failure in our art, our careers, our life; it is amazing that if we change our measuring stick, success is not far from us, but is usually in our presence without us even realizing it! If you adjust your measuring stick, how famous or successful might you really be without even knowing it? If you join up before Saturday at Midnight, you will be able to get a 25% off of the entire month long self-paced course on cultivating your creativity straight from Art Nurture to your inbox! I have had great feedback already this week and look forward to hearing about more adventures in nurturing your creativity!
