A Christmas Thank You

Hello, friends and family! I want to say thanks to you guys for your encouragement. Because of you, I have taken some leaps of faith to nurture myself as an artist and a person and to encourage others to find their individual art form, whatever that may be.

Because of this experiment in artistic adventure I have begun to try new things to open myself up creatively. My friend Matthew came to visit back in September and saw some of the art nurture experiments I was working on, such as learning to knit and crochet and make some jewelry, things I had wanted to learn to do or enjoyed doing as a child. Being a kid again is one of my top creativity enhancers because children are free to dream and try new things with boldness and excitement.

Anyhow, at Matthew's urging, I opened an Etsy shop and have been venturing slowly into said shop. Some of you have seen my scarves or perhaps have already purchased one for a friend or loved one; thank you! From now until Christmas I am going to be running a sale to say thanks to you guys. When you check out in my etsy shop:

www.etsy.com/shop/ArtNurture

you can type in the coupon code "artnurture25" to receive 25% off of your total purchase. I hope you guys sell me out of every bit of yarn I own so I can work on learning some new stuff to share with you in the new year!

I first became attracted to the yarn because of the beautiful colors and the lovely texture. It is a lot like drawing through space when you begin to learn to create shapes with this three-dimensional line of yarn. It is also very meditative and kind of what I like to call my "favorite zen" activity (next to running, of course). I still have a lot to learn about the art form and I want to thank you guys for your excitement about the scarves and I want to encourage you to find that thing you always wanted to do when you were a kid. For me it is definitely more than one thing, for sure! Make a list and start giving things a try. It may feel a little awkward at first to not be so good at something, but be open to learning, you may find a new "thing" that is your favorite thing!
