“Because of their courage, their lack of fear, they (creative people) are willing to make silly mistakes. The truly creative person is one who can think crazy; such a person knows full well that many of his great ideas will prove to be worthless. The creative person is flexible; he is able to change as the situation changes, to break habits, to face indecision and changes in conditions without undue stress. He is not threatened by the unexpected as rigid, inflexible people are.” — Frank Goble
I enjoyed reading this quote because I like the image of the person moving through their life fluidly, following ideas and pursuing them, knowing comfortably that some will pan out and others will not; all the while remaining unthreatened by this fact. It is a fact. Some ideas will work and others will not. We will face indecision and failure, but moving through these things and forward in these things with courage you can make silly mistakes many times on your way to great successes. Learning not to stress out through these courageous creativity moments is a lesson I learn time and again, but one I am always thankful for coming my way. Be flexible. Be creative.
