This upcoming weekend is a very busy time for the artist's here in Asheville, NC. It is the Studio Stroll in the River Arts District. Artist's are cleaning up studio spaces, framing last minute finished pieces of work and arranging furniture differently to accommodate the many visitors that come through this Saturday and Sunday, November 12th and 13th between 10 am and 6 pm. These spaces are normally used for artists to throw paint or clay around in, create new ideas, fail and succeed. The studio is a very personal place, so to open that up to the public brings a bit of creative anxiety, but it is also an exciting opportunity. The process of creative work is a very different gear from the presentation of that very same work. So, we are all bustling about, hanging work, sweeping floors and hoping to see some friendly faces this weekend. If you stop by, there is one artist you may know who loves to see friends for sure. Also, please check out this week's issue of the Mountain Xpress, as my building, Hatchery Studios, was featured! If you come by, you will be able to meet my new studio mates Drew and Dustin and see their work as well.
