"Every creative act involves...a new innocence of perception, liberated from the cataract of accepted belief." -Arthur Koestler, The Sleepwalkers, 1959
Taken from an amazing book that I love, Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards. She has turned around people's belief's on whether or not they can learn to draw by teaching them to perceive in a new way and thus learn to draw. I seek to have an innocence in my perception as well, as I seek to unlearn some old things and learn some new things about art and life and creativity. I definitely think we can all benefit from "a new innocence of perception".
