If you know me at all, you know I have a few weaknesses. Food is definitely one of them, next is art supplies, then books....
I have a hard time going into a book store and leaving empty handed, so in times of plenty and in want, I turn to the public library to satisfy my need for new knowledge and flipping pages. It is definitely good for the mind and more mindful of the pocket book. I remember as a kid being so excited about the summer reading list and then of course, the extra geeky, "advanced" summer reading list. As an adult seeking to nurture my creativity daily, I must say, the excitement has not waned one bit and my own personal reading list is ever expanding before me, as though summer may not end! The public library is still a land of wonders to me, reminding me that nothing is really outside of our reach to love, experience, enjoy and live. Here is a brief mention of what I picked up this week... "Down the Highway: The Life of Bob Dylan" by Howard Sounes "Einstein: A Hundred Years of Relativity" by Andrew Robinson "Mexican Days: Journeys Into the Heart of Mexico" by Tony Cohan "The Poetry of Pablo Neruda" edited by Ilan Stavans "Crafty Chica's Guide to Artful Sewing: Fabu-Low-Sew Projects for the Everyday Crafter" by Kathy Cano-Murillo Random, I know, but I guess that is why it is so fun. It is also a great way to get myself unblocked if I am stuck in some kind of creative rut. Checking out random books just 'cuz usually sparks something in me and gets those wheels turning again. Maybe it is the gaining of a new perspective, or just getting some perspective by standing back from yourself, either way, this usually floods me with new ideas and
